Intellectual property research

Research on innovation and intellectual property facinates me since my graduate studies at Chalmers in 2002/2003. My master thesis entitled „Development of Intellectual Property Management – Cases from German and Swedish Biotechnology Companies“ was inspired by the work of Ove Granstrand. Under the supervision of Cornelius Herstatt I conducted my PhD being co-supervised by Ove Granstrand, which led to the publication of the book „Technology Market Transactions“ by Edward Elgar Publishing International.

Throughout the years I have published a number of peer reviewed articles, conference and working papers dealing primarily with technology exploitation and the role of technology market intermediaries (TMI) to facilitate the developments towards efficient markets of technology.

The publications resulted from a number of IP related research projects.

Topics of particular interest include:

  • Technology market intermediaries (TMI)
  • Markets for technologies and innovation (MfTI)
  • Technology transactions
  • External technology exploitation (commercialization / monetization / deployment)
  • Patent valuations

A list of TMIs can be found here.
