Innovation and Intellectual Property Management (IIPM) Laboratory

This British Council has awarded to the IIPM Lab an India-UK partnership project that aims to design, develop, and pilot test a multidisciplinary teaching module for educating Indian graduate students on ‘Intellectual Property for Sustainability’. The project integrates learnings from the ongoing Belmont Forum and Norface funded, international and interdisciplinary research project "IPACST" (https://ip4sustainability.org/) and the domain expertise of partner institutes to teach new ways of thinking and responsibly dealing with IP for creating positive social and environmental impact rather than just economic growth.

Impact and major beneficiaries

The project will strengthen the India-UK relationship with emphasizes on educating and imparting knowledge related to managing IP for sustainability to students (future technocrats entrepreneurs, business managers, and policymakers) before entering the workforce rather than later. The project will create learning and employability opportunities for Indian students, build and strengthen the long-term IP workforce, and capability to facilitate sustainable development.

This project is funded by the British Council under its Going Global Partnerships Grant programme aimed at “India-UK partnerships for the co-creation of joint programmes of study”.
